Got Oath Letter

My interview was on the 23rd of July but a decision was not made. I just got my oath letter today. Thanks for all your advice.
 
I just noticed that the Receipt Number on my Oath Notice is not the same as the original Receipt Number for my application. Name, address, A# and other details are, however, correct. Is this something to be concerned about?
 
Diavon, I wouldn't worry about the receipt number. The important part is that your A# and biographical information are correct.

By the way, what's the location of your ceremony?

On oath letter it says full signature. Means we have to write the name or signature?.

Good question! As evidenced by the recent changes in signature requirements, various IOs are implementing different rules when it comes to signing documents. Some still stick to the original "full name written in cursive" requirement, while others accept regular signatures, block print, or no signature at all. Just to be on the safe side, I plan on asking the IO at the oath ceremony how they want me to sign the letter and signing it in front of them. I'd suggest that you do the same.

Diavon, lucky you! I heard that the entire procedure only takes about an hour at Federal Plaza.
 
Actually, considering I have been languishing in this country as a non-citizen since 1995, I wouldnt mind a ceremony with some fanfare - perhaps some singing and dancing, a feast, etc. But I'll take what I can get. I am sure my boss will be happy to see me back at work so quickly.

Haha, I've been languishing since 1989! My ceremony is at a federal courthouse in Brooklyn, and I heard that those can get lengthy. In all honesty, it's a huge occasion for me, so I don't really care if I'm there all day...although, I'd love to get it over with quickly!

Congrats!

Work?! Dude take the rest of the day off to relax and get USCIS out of your system! I know we need more than a day to forget USCIS, but that one day sure helped me. Plus the "celebration" didn't hurt either!

Also - go with Vorpal's advice and ask the USCIS representative at the oath ceremony regarding the signature. I did the same thing and was told to use the same signature as on the photo so they match. Luckily - the interviewing IO made me sign using my regular signature on the photos.
 
I would LOOOOOOOVE to take the whole day off! However, my wedding is 4 days after my oath, and I'm taking off the following week. Oh well, I haven't worn a suit to work since my interview at my present place of employment, so it'll be an excuse to do that.

Well it your case you can deal with going back to work because you're off for awhile right after naturalization. Besides, your wedding (translation: wedding night and honeymoon) will definitely get you over USCIS! :D

I have the interview at the same your day, July 14. I am a VA resident. I have not recieved the letter for the Oath yet. Any suggestion?

The USCIS has 120 days from the interview to schedule your oath. My suggestion is to make an InfoPass if you haven't received your OL in 60 days. Besides that, there isn't much you can do.
