Thanx everybody.

I was wondering if anybody has seen or heard of any progress made based on joint USCIS/FBI memo in April to expedite the name chack process and eliminate the delays or may be it is too early to expect the results. Any thoughts??

Per their timetable they should complete
cases stuck for 3 yrs by May 2008
cases stuck for 2 yrs by July 2008
cases stuck for 1 yr by Nov 2008
Plus add 2 months in that to get IL..

MY PD is 04/07 so I expected to get IL in Jan 09 and Interview in March/April 09.

I guess some people had their name check cleared also. so all we can do is wait.

This means there should NOT be any case left beyond 3 years (June 05). Do we have anybody older than that?

Realistically speaking, if it goes what they have promised us, I do NOT need to file WOM in this case as my NC should be completed before Nov, 2008. It seems too good to be true. Any comments guys/gals???
 
Don't hold your breath. My prioriy date is 03/2007 and it's still stuck at FBI name check; talked to an IO yesterday and asked about this, she said it's just a goal and they don't have ANY update from FBI on how it's going.

Agree that it is just a goal but it will have some impact. Also I believe it will have more and more impact as time passes meaning from July onward, we should see some visible
difference.
Do u have any plans to start WOM soon?

IOs wouldn't know that information as it doesn't trickle down to them from upper USCIS management. I'm sure someone in USCIS has information on how it's going, but they just haven't communicated the results.
 
Already filed WOM in eastern PA district couple weeks ago; interesting enough, searched the judge's cases against uscis in the past half year or so; two of them, both voluntarily dismissed after a few weeks; hopefully, it shows once pushed, FBI will get through the name check soon. We'll see...
