Change of plan, from AOS to CP

I was wondering if anyone know what should I do if I change my my mind from doing AOS to CP.

When I sent the DS-122 form to KCC last week, I said that I want to do AOS in the US, but now that I think about it, I might just want to do a CP because of the risk and the processing time in doing AOS.

Is there a time limit when I have to notify KCC or USCIS about this (the latest and the earliest time)?

What would be the best way to notify KCC or USCIS about this?

The best way would contain three actions:
1. Call KCC and tell them your DSP-122 has a mistake. Correct the mistake on the phone.
2. Send new DSP-122 and DS-230 to KCC.
3. Call them afterwards, make sure they receive them and understand you want to do CP.

You do not have to nitify USCIS, unless your file has been transferred to the already.

I called KCC today. I was surprised that the woman who answered the phone was very nice and very helpful (unlike other goverment agencies in the US). I was expecting someone completely different. LOL!!

She asked my CN, my name, and my date of birth. Then I told Her about my decision to change from AoS to CP.

She just told me to send a new DSP-122 that has the correction regarding my option to do CP.

Sending it tomorrow via US Postal Service Priority mail :)

It's strange but I have also found that the Department of State employees (customer service reps) to be quite pleasant than other US gov agencies.

And they are usually younger sounding females...;)

Which is quite the opposite, based in the horror stories I have heard about dealing with Consulate employees

that is quite true. Dept of state employees rock. they are really really nice. They have always been helpful and kinda talk you thru stuff even if there isn't a whole lot that they can do about the situation.
USCIS is completely opposite but i have ran into a few that have been very very nice and pleasant too. i think USCIS employees have to deal with so many annoying people over the phone, so i guess thats why they are not usually friendly most of the time. if USCIS actually get things done on time with the money immgirants are paying up, they won't be calling them on the phone asking for their lost files to be found.:)
