When should I apply for EAD Renewal

Hi,

My wife's EAD will be expired on September 30, from my understanding, we could file the application within the 4 months of expiration. But my wife and I will travel abroad on June 5th for two weeks using AP, her current status is H4. Originally we planned to file the application before the travel, but I realized that her I-94 card will be replaced after the travel and her status will become parolee, which means the documents sent out before will become outdated. In this case, should we file the application after the travel? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am confused with the fingerprint for EAD, is it still the case that if you are e-filling, then you need a fingerprint, but if you file paper based then you don't need it, and why?

What documents are you sending for EAD renewal? EAD is not associated with the temporary visa status. The most important one is the copy of pending I-485 application receipt notice. Yes, I-94 gets replaced upon re-entry but that's normal. If she is currently working I would apply for the renewal right at 120 days time to expiry.

You do NOT need to send a copy of I-94 with your application if you are applying under the (C)(9) category. So there is no concern here at all.

You are correct that they ask for fingerprints for e-filers but not for paper filers (which is why I prefer to paper file so I send everything at once and be done with it). Why is this the case? I have no clear idea.

EAD/AP renewal??

Our EAD/AP's will be expiring on OCt 15 2008.How soon shud I apply for renewal.

where in the EAD renewal application are we specifying when the current EAD expires? I am just asking on what basis do they enforce the 120 days rule. I have been doing e-filing so far but I guess it is pretty much the same as Paper filing.

I guess it is based on your current card expiration date. Basically the question is when you can send the renewal application out? On the date that the card expires (going back to 120 days) or the date that they actually receive the application? Any big guy can give a clear answer on this?

I did not receive a receipt for the I-485 application. I do know the alien number from the fnger printing notice and I know USCIS is not going to send me the receipt after a year.

So for the EAD renewal , what can I provide instead of the receipt.

Thanks

Print the online status from your computer and send it instead (I did that with my I-485 pplication instead of copy from I-140) and explain that you did not receive receipt for I-485 in few lines, you may include copy from FP notice too.

Thank you.
I know I should be applying to Texas centre for renewal. Have no idea where the application (485)was send first time. The USCIS web site says, it was recieved at Nebraska center ,received on July 19 and notice date is Aug 26.The receipt number starts with LIN(got them by calling the center).

Should I send my EAD renewal to Nebraska or Texas.

My AP is considered as lost document(USCIS version) as we never recieved it. Should I be again applying for AP as first time or renewal. What should be fee?
