Name check: shortest time, best case scenario?

My N-400 case is stuck in name check since Dec '07 and considering it's only been 5 months, it's nothing compared to some veterans out there (1-3 years).
But just humor me, are there any best case scenarios out there. Someone who had just let things take their own course (no FOIPA, no letters to congressmen/first lady etc., no WOM) and gotten out of this hell hole, in say within 10-12 months or is this just a fairy tale.

Best case scenario is that your name scored 1 hit, in which case the name check is completed in about a month. 2nd best case scenario is about 6 months, if you have a couple of hits. Anything worse than that (which supposedly affects only 1% of applicants) can take anywhere from a year to an undetermined amount of time. There was recently a post by a person who has been stuck in name check since early 2003.

I had my FP on Feb 3rd 2008 and my background check was completed on Feb 6th 2008. My PD is Nov 2007.

I forgot to add that if your name scores no hits, then the name check is completed within 24-48 hours.

its virtually impossible that a name has no hits...there is always some thing out there....we are not aware of it....

I dont know how exactly this works, but that this info I got from USCIS.I dont know if I name check has no hits. I did not do anything at FP.
