US Lost Office lost my interview letter in the mail - what should I do now?

Around 2/20/08, I was not able to access my case on USCIS website
for several days. (came up as error or case not found)

At the time, I paid no attention to it... I figured it was just glitch on the
website...

However, based on what I've read after joining this forum, I suspect that
may have signaled my IL was getting ready to be mailed to me. This means
my IL letter was mailed to me and got lost in the mail... I've had a real problem
with my local post office's delivery in the last 12 months.(lost dozens of mail,
getting dozens of mail not addressed to my address)

It's more than likely that my interview date had come and gone without me
realizing it! What should I do now?

The website is not updated, many people including me, have never been entered in there and I got the same error messages as you. It means nothing. When I even called to ask they told me that it is generally inaccurate and they don't put everyone in it. So nothing is wrong with your case...

No worries if interview letter is lost. Just show up on your scheduled date with all the documents and previous USCIS letters. The receptionist will pull your case up and will check you in. My dad's letter was lost in the mail as well and this is exactly what I did.

Read here what Ned50 said:

the problem is he doesn't know WHEN it was scheduled!
so how can he show up on the unknown date? it's probably come and gone, like he said.

if he can get an IO on the CS phone line, perhaps they can tell him when it was?

Ned50, How are you so sure about that?

Hi, Ned50, how are you so sure the IL has been sent and lost? The only sign is that your case doesn't show up in the case status checking site, that might means interview is scheduled or means nothing.

So, call the number and find out if they have sent you the letter, then panic.

Ned50:

What you need to do is call customer service ASAP. Don't bother telling the reps your story, just tell them that you sent your N-400 3 months ago and still haven't gotten a receipt. They'll quickly transfer you to an IO, without any additional questions. Once you get an IO on the phone, they'll be able to look up the detailed status of your case and let you know whether or not an IL has been sent. Do this ASAP, do not delay.

Once you've done that, contact your local postmaster and file a complaint about misdelivered mail. I had to do this 2 years ago, and the problem was solved very quickly.

I agree; make sure that they really did send you an IL.
then, if they did...panic :) no, best to call CS, and ask what you should do.
I'm sure this is not the 1st time something like this has happened. usps loses crap all the time, and I'm sure USCIS also knows that.
CS should be able to tell you what to do next.
in any case, it's just a delay at the most.
