Urgent Help Please: AR-11 and N-400 Interview

I have my N-400 interview coming in five weeks. This is my great concern. I was not aware of AR-11 change of address form until few months after my latest address change. Since I became a Permanent Resident I moved few times and did not file AR-11 because I was not aware of it. However after I became aware of it, I called the Immigration Customer Service and the IO told me not to worry because it was not willful on my part not to fill AR-11 and as long as I file the latest AR-11 I should be OK and I did so immediately.
However I am very worried that the IO in the N-400 interview will ask me about AR-11 for all the addresses and deny my application because I did not file all of them even though I was not aware of it.

Can you please share your knowledge or experience on this issue? Thank you.

Don't sweat it. As long as they have your current address, it won't be a problem. I've never heard of anyone being asked about AR-11 at the interview.

If the IO themselves told that why are you worried..... I think you should give him all the addresses.... fill out a new form and take it with you. I don't think you will have any problems... Call them and ask them if you can do that or just show them new address prior you go to Interview?

Thanks Vorpal.

I read a post here where someone was asked about their AR-11 at the N-400 interview.

You have nothing to worry about..they can't deny you application based on you not filling out AR-11 alone..as long as your last address on file is correct who won't have any issues.

I filed AR-11 for my latest address change many months before I submited the N-400 application but this was the only AR-11 that I submitted as I was not aware of this form until months from my last move.

Thanks Bob, however look what the New York Times reported recently:

"In a current Florida case, a British-born businessman saw his naturalization derailed and was detained for deportation because he forgot to update his home address with the immigration agency, Mr. Brauwerman said. He was charged with ignoring a notice in which immigration examiners mistakenly accused him of a felony he had never committed."

GhabtaBro

I have listed all these addresses on my N-400 application but only I filled N-400 for my latest an current address. What if the IO asked me for AR-11 for the listed previous addresses and I tell him I did not file it beause I was not aware of it?

Yeah and that you have talked to someone over the phone and they asked you to file AR11 and asked you not to worry. Infact call them again and get that assurance and get their name just to be on the safe side... they call out some kind of number get that too (whatever you can get for that IO).

I had read the article ealier as well and I believe this might be the text causing you anxiety:

I haven't seen many posts on this Board where not filing an AR-11 was ever an issue, and you already have updated your current address with the USCIS. (From above post it can be implied that the current address of Mr. Brauwerman may not have been updated at the time of the interview). Like others even I think you should be fine... especially when there was no wrong intention from your side (that's what you have to convince if asked).

I second it. The chances that this is going to be an issue at your interview are as close to zero as it can get. Don't panic, you're going to be fine, I am pretty sure about that. You have the advantage over many other applicants that you submitted an AR-11. I am sure thousands upon thousands don't even file a AR-11 ever. At least you submitted the one for your last move and it is up to date. As I said, nothing to worry in my humble opinion.

Yes the above is the cause of my anxiety. The problem is the IO may not believe that I was not aware of AR-11 even though I immediately filed one for my latest address change the moment I became aware of it. He or she can deny me at the spot and ask me to convince an immigration judge instead. I may be getting paranoid here but the thought of waiting all these years to become a proud American Citizen and then get denied for an issue that I was not aware of is making me very worried.

Thank you Huracan and all. I feel better now after I read your responses. Again I may be getting paranoid over this.

Don't worry, you will be fine. IOs have many issues to consider while approving for Citizenship and this is merely a blip on the radar. Your anxiety is going to be over soon, when you get your Citizenship in little more than a month.

For 5 weeks

Ok, despite of ppl telling you it's not a biggy you will continue to torture yourself for another 5 weeks. Do us a favour. Could you please post your picture. I would like to see a picture of yours now and also 5 weeks later. 5 weeks later you'll definitely need to dye yoyr hair or get transplant done. Be prepared.

Stop worrying about this stupid issue please. Just relax and be yourself when you appear for your interview. There is no need to mention anything to the officer unless he asks. Don't be a smart A$$ and start updating him on things which he is not even asking. Answer everything to the point & whatever has been asked. Nothing less, nothing more. You will do fine. Good luck.

LOL.... thank you :)

Actually, even if you did file all your AR-11 notices, there's no way you can prove it -- USCIS does not send you a receipt saying it received your AR-11. You claiming you filed an AR-11 vs. the USCIS saying they didn't receive it, doesn't say a thing. This is why I have a hard time believing some of the things in that NY Times article.
