New Jersey N-400 Interview date for July 2007 applicants

My wife and I sent our N400 on July 29, 2007 and we both got our Fingerprinting done on 12/18/2007. She got her interview letter for April 23, 2008 ( on Feb 4, 2008. I have not yet received any interview date letter.

I have a few questions about this :

(a) Is this normal or common - that applications mailed and processed together get separate Interview letters ? If not what could be the cause.
(b) When I check the application status online at uscis.gov - both our application status return "Received and pending" . Should not my wife's apllication status change since she received the Interview letter ?
(c) I am wondering if my notice could have got lost in the mail - not sure how common that is?

Although the applications were sentg together, they still are processed separately and may encounter different times.

The online system is not accurate not up to date, so don't pay much attention to the online status.

Sure, Anything is possible. Try calling USCIS first for the status of your case and go from there. Good luck.

Thanks for the helpful info. How often does this happen to applications ? Anything to worry about if the delay is say another month.

It could be as simple as background check wasn't completed or your application. Just keep calling USCIS periodically for updates on your case.
