I am working 2 jobs so I am really busy to post.
But, from going through the threads, it seems we are not seeing people reporting IL being received at all except for few people from Ohio area mainly..

Seems like Gonazles was serious when he said 16-18 months minimum :)

I donno, but it should balance the load since applications volumes went down after July anyways..

I am trying to NOT THINK ABOUT IT ANYMORE....until May.
Whenever it happens, I will be happy...

Hey dude, I was wondering where you went! I trust the little one is doing well?

I've seen a few ILs over the past couple of weeks, but they've been really scattered. Gonzales said that, by 2010, they want to reduce processing times to 6 months or less. If you look at the patterns of their fee hikes, we'll be just about due for another round by then. This means that there will be yet another backlog and receipting delay. I wonder why they just don't raise the processing fee to $2,000 or so, just to make things effective? Although, even if they did, I'm sure they'd find something else that would snag them up. Bureaucracy at it's finest!

Been sooooooooo busy...and actually my 2nd job takes between 25-30 hours extra a week.
Wife is back to school so I get busy with the 2 kids alot to give her chance to study..
So it has been hard to post..
Usually I read as much as I can..
Now, I really think that the backlog will be cleared within this year ..
We will get our ILS within this year but when? who knows..
What I hope the government does is allow those of us who have been waiting for citizenship to apply for our family members with some priority as it is their fault for the delay that they will be out of status due to the delay..

I really do hope that the backlog is cleared by the end of the year, although I am not holding my breath. It's difficult to maintain a positive attitude nowadays, especially after Emilio Gonzalez's address to Congress. I'm still going to do an InfoPass at the beginning of March. If my name check is clear, I'm just going to relax and forget about this entire ordeal until I get my IL.

BTW.
I forgot to mention I contacted senator's office. After the third letter and they said they can not take any action on behalf of me unless my FBI namecheck has been pending for one year.
Everything is going smooth here and alot of studing and school work ( good that I don't have two kids) but work and school full time takes away a big chuck of your life.
I will post again later.

I received IL -date set for 3/20 in NYC

I was surprised to find the IL upon my return from a 10 day trip overseas two nights ago. The letter is dated 1/17 and postmarked 1/19. The interview is set for 3/20 but unfortunately I may have to postpone due to a business trip.

My timeline is as follows:

With the uncertainty that is happening regarding processing times, I strongly urge you to NOT postpone your interview. Your citizenship should be worth more than a job - in my opinion - and you know how USCIS is so backwards. The last thing you need is to be placed at the back of the line.

A big, hearty congratulations to you! There's hope for NYC applicants after all! I also think that you should postpone the business trip. If you postpone the interview, you never know how long it'll take to reschedule.

Great news, and congratulations to you!! I did not think that anybody who applied at the end of the July in the NYC area would be anywhere close to receiving an interview, so I have to tell you that I am kind of surprised, in a pleasant way of course. I think this bodes well for people in the NYC region, but it also gives me hope that maybe, just maybe some of the things they are doing to help clear the backlog are actually working. Call me crazy, but what can I say...hope springs eternal!
