USCIS Chief: be patient with your naturalization

I might have missed something. They promise to reduce waiting period to 6 months by the third quarter of 2010, don't they?

They also say that before then the processing time will be up to 18 months. Every few years they will come out and make a promise of six month processing time in the future. They have never been able to adhere to that consistently.

As one lawyer wrote this morning:

"Funny, I remember going to an AILA conference about a dozen years ago and hearing INS Commissioner Doris Meissner promise six month turnaround times on naturalization cases. That must be some sort of Holy Grail for USCIS since it doesn't seem to be something they've ever been able to achieve."

Yes, I already made this prediction and few weeks back, posted in RTD delay thread, I put a dam hold on "MY" life to be over with this ordeal, been here more than 18 yrs granted for 10 yrs and still I have to wait minimum 3 or more years, by than I will be getting ready to retire. My parents are already in 80's so technically if I go by the law of this room, I may not see them before they go down 6 feet under. So, after reading this article of 18 months in the paper yesterday, I made up my mind to visit my parents for 2 weeks, and f*ck everything else. I am just furious and so mad.

I will be ready to apply for my Citizenship in March 09, i guess i will have to be ready for another long delay, but i'm willing to participate in any action you guys might take! count me in.

Did you merry US citizen? :)

there should be new lawsuit regarding the USCIS'S delays and backlogs in cases like Asylum decisions, RTD processing timing backlogs, and asylee relative petition case backlogs and green card process backlogs,

some people are having to wait years just to get asylum decisions from AO. And after waiting months and years after asylum interview at AO, people are getting denied and this is causing massive sadness and fraustations to applicants, Nobody is damanding yes decision on asylum, what people should be given is YES/NO decision on asylum within 2 weeks but even that is not happening.
USA really sucks when it comes to immigration case processing for legal immigrant.

WE all should file a HUGE lawsuit against the USCIS so they act right once and for all!
I am sick of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pls lets talk about filing LAWSUIT against this USCIS.

Contact AILA or hire your own expert immigration attorney or contact ACLU.

Really, this will work if we act.
