Unavailable. All visa numbers have been used up, so there will be NO MORE EB2-India approvals until October 1, 2008.

EB3 India moved from 1st May 2001 to 8th May 2001. At this rate, I'll probably collect my GC alongwith my social security benefits after retirement

What if anything can I expect to happen now. PD is 07May2001.

Please any guidance and advice is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if my name check has been initiated, not sure how to find this info. But I did get the EAD and online status on the AP shows "document mailed to applicant" as of last Monday. Also FP is done.

Add up everymonth 8 days and you will know when you will get Green card. Atleast your PD is 2001, think about mine Feb 2003.

1) Call appropriate svc center - Nebraska or Texas. Ask rep whether checks initiated and completed. If you get a positive response, great.
2) Else, go to congressman's office to make a written appeal to inquire about checks. If this works, great.
3) Write letters to First Lady and FBI to get confirmation on checks.

If any one of the above solutions work, you will get your GC soon. Unfortunately, however, each solution is a time consuming process. Start early and work hard.

If I understand correctly EB3 gets the numbers that are unused by EB1 and by EB2. How can it happen that there are numbers available for EB3 and EB2 is "U"?

EB-3 gets numbers of its own plus any EB-2 numbers that are unused. All EB-2 numbers are used, but there are still EB-3 specific numbers.

The TSC rep today told me though the Visa bulletin for Feb 2008 EB3 India is may 08 2001 no visa available for the reminder of 2008 and all visa numbers are used up... I asked her why then the Feb bullettin say may 08 2001?
"sir.. all numbers for 2008 are alloted for and you need to wait for 2009 visa numbers though your PD is 05/07/2001" what a news!!!

My NC cleared long ago and stuck with next.. visa numbers !!!

Hell... what a wait since may 2001......

Any one know if this is true???

Information over the phone can be bogus.

Don't trust what you hear over the phone. Get an infopass. If what the rep said was true, EB3 too would be at U status.

Give a call once again, I'm sure you'll hear a different story this time.

This assumes all EB-1 numbers will be used up right? When will the unused numbers be released for lower categories?

It assumes that EB1 overflow will go to EB2-RoW and EB3-RoW and not to EB2-IN.
