Update 2
Got home and decided to call the TSC to find out what their spin would be.
After several tries and a surprisingly short wait of only 22 minutes (you guys ever noticed how the estimated wait time at TSC is ALWAYS between 20 and 30 minutes. It cracks me up how they try to fool us into thinking that the TSC has some sort of automated call volume monitoring system. Nice try. Ha..ha..ha!) I got thru to a nicer sounding lady again. (That's 2 days in a row I got nice reps. I need to go buy a lottery ticket

). Anyway, here goes the dialogue-
CSR: What's your receipt number?
Me: <receipt number>
CSR: Current mailing address?
Me: <Mailing address>
CSR: Last 4 of SSN (tis a new one)
Me: <last 4 of SSN>
CSR: What can I help you with today?
Me: I called this number y'day about my NC and today I went to Infopass. I received contradictory info and I was wondering if you could clarify?
CSR: What did you hear from us y'day?
Me: That my NC was cleared...
CSR: And what did they tell you today at Infopass?
Me: That my security check is still pending...
CSR: Let me check...(puts me on hold)
CSR: (returns after a long wait of 5 min) Your name check is clear
Me: OK. Thank you. Could you tell me what else might be holding up my case?
CSR: Let me see...your FP are clear...what is your category?
Me: Employment based. EB3
CSR: Do you know your PD?
Me: Yes. <PD>
CSR: (Goes back into hibernation; I actually got nervous that I accidentally shutdown my friendly neighborhood CSR)
CSR: (reboots after what seemed an eternity) Sir, I am going to send a message to the unit with your case details. Hopefully you will get a decision soon.
Me: One final question...do you know if my case has been assigned to an officer.
CSR: No it is still sitting in the "Work Area" (that dark, dusty room with a strong smell of bat poop...you get it right!)
Me: Could you possibly tell me when my NC was cleared?
CSR: (couldn't hear what she said)
Me: So, you don't have that information?
CSR: (getting a little testy) I do have that information, sir. But I couldn't tell you. It's internal (I guess she'd have to kill me if she told me)
Me: (trying to push the limits a bit) But you are sure that my NC was cleared.
CSR: (real testy and annoyed) Sir, you asked me check something and I did...
Me: (interrupting her hastily) No maam, didn't want to offend you or anything. Just wanted to double check because of the conflicting info I got the (useless) Infopass center. Sorry.
CSR: I will send the message to the unit...
Me: Thank you very much for your time.
So folks, that was it. Let the spin begin. As far as where I stand on this whole thing, I will have to see it to believe it. My next step would be to invoke a congressional inquiry thru my local rep as well as thru the Ombudsman's office. I already had a SR opened yesterday. That's my plan of action.
Any comments/suggestions are welcome.
