gap between two H1B during tranfer

My current H1B expires on October next year. I want to transfer to a new company and this new company already applied a new H1B for me. My new
H1B starts on Oct. 5, 2007. Right now I am still working for my current company. I want to leave my current company now and take several weeks vacation. Then I will start to work for my new company in Nov. Is this several weeks vacation OK that I am not belong to both of my current company and new company? Thank you very much.
