Wrong entry of Visa Category/I-94 date at POE

I noticed that Immigration Officer at the Port of Entry(POE) stamped the passport on my wife's visa as B2 instead of H1 by mistake when she landed in US last week.

Is she currently out of status now since she doesnt have a B2 visa? Also the I-94 expiry date is mentioned on the passport as March 2008 instead of original validlity date of H1(which is Oct 2010)

Could someone let me know how to get this problem rectified? Any one with similar experiences please share your thoughts..

I have not had this experience, but just a suggestion, if it is of any help. One option would be to try calling USCIS and ask them what to do.

--------------------go to same POE and meet the officer and point out the mistake get new I-94 with H1 status and also get the Entry on Passport stamp corrected as H1 and ask the officer to change the info also in the system
Any one with similar experiences please share your thoughts..

your wife should go to same POE and get the I-94 and passport stamp corrected

hi,
i have a question regarding my wifes H4 visa. We went to india last year and she was in H4. she got her VISA stamped in passport until end of 2009
after she came here , she switched to F1 in march and again back to H4 in august.. is the VISA in passport still valid ? can she travel out of the country and come back in again with the old visa ?
or does she need to get the visa stamped again if she travel outside the country ?

if she has valid H4 VISA stamp and YOU are on H1 status then she can go out and can enter on H4 status and will get I-94 (h4 based) till Visa stamp expiry.
FYI why are you posting in this thread? the poster got wrong I-94 and posted how to correct it and this has nothing related to you or your wife
