Since the Immigration and the DO in Detroit are ..., I am going to send the I-131 form to be on the safe side.

However, I am wondering if anybody can help me with what should I write in the "CLASS OF ADDMISSION" BOX???

Interview date is on October 11, but who knows..... In detroit they are strict and most of the applicatns are getting name check thing.

Further clarification... It is the staus of your most recent entry. For example, I originally entered the country on an F1 but since travelled outside and entered on an H1. So, while filling my I-131, I entered H1 as class of admission. Does everyone agree?

I will Put in "Student F-1 Visa"

I will put F-1 Student.

I am working and getting paid, but I didn't receive my EAD yet. The HR told me it is not a big deal. We understand, but we need to see a receipt or form that show you applied for it. I showed it to them, and every thing is cool so far.

However, my SSN doesn't say that I am not allowed to work without INS approval or anything else:D :D

How long do you think it is gonna take before I see my EAD??

How are you able to work without EAD? Is it part of the student employment where you are only allowed to work 20 hour weeks. The reason I ask is because I had a good offer last month and they were not able to wait for 8 weeks for my EAD. HR said to get a hold of them once I was close to getting my EAD(my ND is July 2, ID is 10/11, so I am hoping it is a few weeks away). They have not filled the position so I have my fingers crossed that it will work out! Maybe there is something I missed that you did not! Thanks.

Put down the classification you have on your current/valid/latest I-94.

I don't know if it is just my luck or what?
I thought they I will get laid off for weeks because I don't have my EAD yet. They told me it is not a big deal. We understand that the it is pending, just please notify us once you get it.
I am still waiting for my EAD, and no emails from USCIS and nothing in the mail yet. I am getting nervous a little bit.

But according to my understanding from the I-9 Form, if you have a proof that you applied, you have 90 days to show them the work permit and before that time, you can show them the receipt.

I wish I can help you more, but I am just telling you my expereince.

Ummmm, interesting !!!

You told me November 10, however, I received an email about 30 minutes ago at 9:45 pm stating that my card is in Production.


Now, I will be waiting to receive it in the mail.

I am glad it came so fast. I was giving you low expectations so that you would be excited, instead of disappointed at the end :)

You should get your EAD in 2 weeks or less ;)

Thanks Pratorian for your kindness. But now, are you saying two weeks to give me low expectations or just to give me a hard time. lol

I did a stupid mistake today, I sent my I-131 without the photos. I forgot them at my desk in the office. I didn't notice that until I was ready to leave, I found the photos.....

I hope they request the pictures very fast.

What do you think???

This will delay it by at least 4 weeks :p

2 weeks for them to process, 1 week RFE sent to you, 1 week RFE received back.

what I am going to do tomorrow is, send these two pictures by DHL to Chicago office with a letter stating every thing and the A# and copy of the
I-485.

What do you think???

That is an idea, whether it will be sucessful or not. Who knows, from what I know, you need to wait for your RFE to MAKE SURE that they file it correctly. :rolleyes: But you can always try (just keep another 2 pictures handy).
