need very quick help on applying I485

Hello guys,
First let me say thanks to one and every one in this forum. I got a lot of help from you and with your help I already applied for my Citizenship and on this 17th I have my OATH Ceremony. Really thanks a lot and thanks to god.

Now I am in the process of applying GC for my wife. She is in US on her L! B visa. I need help in this.
I have collected some forms to apply for her. Please correct me if I missed some thing in the list of below forms

I-130 (which I need to fill my details)
I-485(my wife details)
I-864 (my details)
G-325A (my wife details)
I-693 (my wife details)
I=765 (EAD, I am not sure does she needs this or not)

Below are some of my questions that I came across when I am applying the above forms

1. What option should I select in I-485 for the question "I am filling this application because:"
2. As I told you early that I will be US citizen soon (assume) in the form they are asking about MY A#. What should I provide here? Do I need to provide my GC A#
3. Form I-693, do I need to send this form concurrently with my I-485, I-130.
4. What all forms Do I need to send them first and is there any process which should go first and the rest later.
5. After we apply for the GC for her, can she quit the job from present employer? She is willing not to work for a while until she gets the GC. So we are not in plan to apply EAD also. Will her L1 still valids.
Please help me asap as I need to file for her as soon I become citizen.

Whenever you go to the court house / probate judge office (wherever you obtained the marriage license).

You ask for a copy of your marriage certificate and they will give you a certified copy with a dry seal stamped and the signature of the judge or whatever.

That is what it means, it is already notarized.

I got married in India and got marriage certificate from india. Its already has government stamp.

the other thing is I still dint get any reply for the questions which I asked in my first post.
Can you please clarify me on those questions

PS: Make sure you get that marriage certificate (and any other document in foreign language) translated into english.

If she intends to continue working for her L-1 sponsoring compnay until she gets her GC, she does not need to file I-765. Also if she has a valid L-1 visa, she does not need to file I-131 for traveling.

might as well file for it, it's already included in the fees :)

Thnaks for your valuable inputs. I just came to know that we need to get appointment from a doctor for I-693 and get the medical test done before we send the I-130,I-485 forms. Is it True? If so, where can I find the list of doctors those were approved by INS.

Regarding EAD, She don't want to work for a while until she gets the GC approved. So I believe she can be in home with out going out of country until she gets her GC? If she wants to do like this, When is the best time for her to quit the current job.

Yes, she can just enjoy a time off. If she wants to do like this, When is the best time for her to quit the current job. When you receive the receipt for form I-485, that is when her status is officially pending by an AOS application. Not before.

Right now whether you file for EAD and AP or not, you still pay the same fee. There are people that get stuck in the name check and do not get their green cards for a LOOONG time. If you decide that you actually want an EAD down the road, you will have to pay extra fee. So why not order one, just in case. I hope you do not need it but I do not want you to be sorry later that you didn't order. It is only one extra sheet to fill out.

The doctor will administer any test that she needs. Depending on what she has gotten done already and what her vaccination record shows.

I personally recommend, calling them up, asking what tests need to be done and shots taken. Then go to your local health department and get them. It will save you a couple hundred dollars... $$

She will get shots for Varicella, MMR, Tetanus a TB Skin test, HIV and VDRL tests. Those are expensive, but I got mine done (most of them) at the health department for $30.

She dint had any tests before in US not in India too for last 2 years

hi,
I found a doctor in the list that are in USCIS website. She has practices in different places but when I can every one says she is not working there at all. Do you know what might be the reason why it is listed here but not working. Bcz my wife wants to go to a lady doctor only and I find only one lady doctor.

Maybe the list is out of date?

Try a male doctor... she won't be asked to undress or anything... My exam lasted less than 1 minute. Is not a BIG deal.

You can always go to another state :p

Hi,
Finally I found another doctor and also got appointment from this doctor and from my family doctor as you mentioned to get the tests done out side. But when I am speaking with this doctor she mentioned that I need to fill Form I-693 supplemental also. Do I need to fill it its for Vaccination.

The Civil Surgeon will fill both (I-693 and the supplement) forms. All you have to do is sign them, you can print them out in the strange event that they do not have them. But they should have them and give them to you 1 copy for you, 1 copy for them and 1 copy for USCIS (in a sealed envelope with his/her letterhead).

note: your family doctor will still charge you a lot more money than the local health department. :rolleyes:
