hi guys, i'm just so worried about the status of my I-485.

My husband and I filed I-485, I-765, I-130 and the affidavit of support in March but we use a lawyer for this stuff. The paralegal told us that they filed our applications in April yet on the I-797C that we got on July 19, 2007 - The received date is July 09, 2007 and the Notice date is July 17, 2007.
I am not sure if they really submitted them in April or just last month. I am so disappointed because I want to work so bad but I can't coz I'm not authorized to work yet since I've overstayed.

Anyway, I've already searched the Receipt Numbers for I-765 and I-130 and they both appeared on the USCIS site after 2 weeks but my I-485 receipt number is not there - And I still get this error
"Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

* Case Status Retrieval Failed
* This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

Can you please let me know what's going on?

I'd appreciate your help and advice.

Thank you in advance

This is a very busy time for USCIS, but you did applied aearlier and you should have recieved an EAD by now, something is not right. There is an info pass online appointment that you can schedule and then go there and meet with on eof the imigration officers. But this also apperas to be not so efficient. If i was you the best thing I would do is make out a personal time sit at home on my regular home phone with long distance, till you are connected to an immigration officer and they will walk with you step by step on what went wrong right from when you applied. The reason I am saying a home phone is because sometimes u might wait on line for over 30 minutes before you can talk to an officer, so f thats a cell phone you then know what that means.

Your application was received by the USCIS on July 9, 2007 hence the Notice date receipt that you got.

You should ask your attorneys why they did not file your application in a timely manner. Had your application been filed in March as they claim, you would have received a Biometrics appointment letter, your EAD and your Interview Letter and date by now.

Going by the timelines posted on here, you may even have had your GC in hand by now.

Your attorneys have cost you a lot of time. As for a refund.

I asked them twice and that's the same answer they gave me.

But based on the timelines i've read here..I came to think that they only submitted my application last month.
I use that law office because they have good reputation but I didn't know they are so behind.

What we got at the present time is only the Biometrics Appointment Notice but not for EAD and AOS.

I know and that makes me mad.

The reason we didn't file it ourselves is because we don't wanna go through the hassle of mailing and asking people what the requirements are but it ended up causing us so much.
