Administrative Processing

Hi,

I've had my interview in early April 2007 in London. Today I received the following reply from Embassy regarding my security clearence status:

"Your application is subject to further review because the interviewing officer was unable to eliminate you as a match to an individual who is ineligible to receive a visa.
In such cases, the officer is required by law to submit the individual application for interagency review. Until this review is complete, we are unable to issue a visa.

However, as the review process involves multiple agencies, neither we nor the Department can suggest when we will receive permission to proceed with the application. This review cannot be waived."

Has anybody experienced the same problem (or knows somebody with this situation)?
I wonder if it is possible to ask embassy to expedite my clearence as we are closing to the Sep deadline?
I'm so disappointed now & I think this is the end for me! :(

I appreciate any help.

by all means, contact them. Not that it would help, I guess. Try to involve a congressman, a senator, FBI, etc.

The reply you received just says that you will have to go through administrative processing in Washington, DC. I was told at my interview that this would be the case for me since my first and last names are very common. I thought you were told you would have to wait for administrative processing at your interview, in which case the reply below is not a new development.

Hi Bahadur,

Yes, I'm still waiting for the result of administrative processing. I noticed the "the interviewing officer" part right after posting the question. That's why I thought it's a new result for my clearance.

Anyway, have you had any development in your case yet?
