Question on status when applying for spouse's EAD

Friends,

I am applying for an EAD for my spouse while I am preparing my I-485. We are both on our separate H1s. When the EAD comes she would like to switch to EAD card. Now the question is

1. When she uses EAD card , does that mean that my status will no longer be H1?

2. If she uses the EAD card, can I still stay on H1 ?
