Is having a Canadian PR visa stamp a problem?

When I get my I-485 approved, do I have to have my passport stamped for the I-551 if I do not plan to leave the US until my plastic GC arrives? I have a Canadian PR visa in my passport on which I traveled to Canada for 5 days in Nov 2006 and it expired in Dec 2006. I never applied for Canadian PR card. For the past 13 years I have maintained a valid non-immigrant status in the US and I have spent all my time in the US except for several absences 2-4 weeks long, 2 years apart. I am now on an H1B with an EB3 I140 approved and waiting for my Jan 2006 PD to become current to file the I-485. If I have to get the I-551 stamp, will the authorities have a basis to suspect that I have abandoned my US PR status and deny my GC because they will be able to see my CAN PR visa even if I never established residence in Canada. Do I need to carry some proof that I have given up my intention to settle in Canada and if so what would constitute such proof?

If I pass this stage, will I run the risk of losing my GC status when I try to reenter the US for the same reasons as above?

file the I-485 when your PD is current and your GC is going to be approved AFTER your Canada PR or PR visa stamp. US immigration dont care about Canada immigration or your PR stamp. your are filing I-485 AFTER Canada PR stamp. not a problem.
