Case Transfered to Local Office - Interview scheduled

Well! I had proudly posted this thread that IO had verbally told my wife that her case is being approved. We havent heard anything since then. We didn't receive any approval during last 4 months, and her fingerprints also got expired almost within 20 days of her intreview.

I have booked an infopass appointment with local office for this Tuesday to enquire further. I have also called the 800 number yesterday and the customer service officer has given us a confirmation Number alongwith a verbal surity that we will get a written response within one month, and if we dont, then we should contact them again.

Question: should we still go for infopass appointment as scheduled OR this phone call/confirmation number is going to be enough. Also Does it make any difference if we keep calling them and keep receiving new confirmation numbers on every call once or twice a week untill they respond. Do we have any other option ?

Please ...

In terms of any other options, you can sue the USCIS to compel them to decide the application.

vdostoi1 and thankful .... thanks for your replies .....

My wife received a biometric letter from the local office (the office where she appeared for her interview) within 5 days of calling the 800 Number. She has given her fingerprints again at the assigned location immediately afterwards. But! the weired thing is.... we did not see any LUD change during last 4 months since her case was transfered to the local district office eventhough her interview was scheduled during this time, she appeared for the same, her bio got expired and she received new biometric letter and her fingerprints were taken during these months as well.... still NO LUD change.... is it normal with local offices ?

Thankful, is there any drawback in suing USCIS in this kinda complicated cases ? ....

If she received her FP appointment that that means something is moving.

Case transferred to an un-related Asylum Office now

vdostoi1 .... seems there is no end of this f*****g wait. My wife has given her finger-prints (again) more than a month ago.

We visited local USCIS office with an infopass today. A really old Immigration officer (at counter) told us that my wife's finger print results are good and her I-485 interview in their office was good as well.

But! we got shocked after knowing that my wife's complete A-File has been moved to USCIS asylum office in Los Angeles. We never changed our official address to city/county of Los Angeles. Our official address was always there in Bay Area, CA. It is really depressing news for us that why did they move her file to an asylum office in a totally unrelated city?

1. Her original I-589 (which was administratively closed) was originally filed in asylum office in SFO (And not in Los Angeles).
2. I have never provided any of Los Angeles based address to USCIS in the past then why would they do it ?

Any thought/advice please ?????

Singh6,

I would recommend you to be patient. #1 your wife entered EWI. For every other case EWI can never get approvals however since its an asylum, EWI may not matter.

Suing etc may cause you headaches if EWI is brought up. If you bring up the point that the COP embassy won't help you..they will still argue that it doesnt mean you break the law. You got your wife here..just relax and enjoy your life. Her paperwork will be settled..
