sponsor twice

I sponsored my ex-wife for a greencard in the past. We got divorced thereafter after getting the GC. I am getting remarried now. Can I sponsor my wife again for a green card? Any idea for this. Is there a time required in between two sponsorships. I am a LPR. Both the marriage are legitamate (no fraud involved). Thank you very much

Yes, you can.
Have you applied for citizenship yet?

Both the marriage are legitamate (no fraud involved).

Well I guess everyone would expect you to say that!
The question is whether you can prove it to USCIS, as they will likely be giving you and your new wife some extra-special attention during the interview.

More attention is fine - that can be handled.

I was wondering if there is any law which prohibits LPR to sponsor his wife for the second time (after sponsoring ex-wife followed by divorce) within two years.

since your first marriage apparently lasted longer than 5 years, I don't think it will look suspicious if your remarry and sponsor the next wife within two years of divorcing the first wife.

I don't see how your first marriage would last less than 5 years, since you are not a citizen, but an LPR and the current wait for LPR's spouses for a visa number is about 5+ years.

If this is not so, let us know.

no first marriage lasted just one year. I sponsored my ex-wife during my employment based GC process.

So will that be problem if I sponsor again (family based GC now) within 2 years period. thank you

There is no law that says you can't sponsor more than one wife. Whether you are successful or not will depend entirely upon USCIS.

since it was employment based GC, you didn't sponsor your wife per se. She was just a derivative on your petition.

Your current wife is the one you will sponsor for GC. Since you are LPR, it will take some time till she actually gets it, but it's beside the point.

Woo woo!

This is kinda funny cause see I got denied for my I-485 why? cause I was sponsered twice and my status is still the same cause I didn't file I-751 so in results I have to file a Motion to reconsider so I can prove that I did clear my status and that I did enter the U.S. as a Visitor and not with my former Green Card Holder.
