I'm new

My boyfriend is living in White Hall, MI and I live in London, Ontario Canada. The plan is for us to get a place in Lansing together and then get married in the US so as I can work sooner. I guess what I'm wondering is am I going to have issues at the border when I take my moving truck over and tell them I'm moving to the US?

To put my mind at ease I just need to know the things I need to do in order for all of this to work! Thank-you ahead of time for anybodies help:)

you can't move to the US, unless you have an immigrant visa. You can visit, though, as a Canadian citizen.

Err... yes, you will have problems, 'cos you'll basically be saying to the officers at the PoE "Hey, I'm going to be illegal as soon as I cross the border".

Assuming you BF is a USC, he should probably apply for a K1 visa for you. That will give you 90 days in the US to get married, and then he can sponsor you for I-130/I-485.

Hehehe, that was a funny question. Yes, he needs to file for a K-1 Visa before you can "move" to the US. Then you will have 90 days to marry him.
