My Priority Date is now current, I'm calling the USCIS!

You can see my case details in my sig. Today is the first day in a almost two years where my priority date is now current. I'm going to be as proactive as I can.

I just got off the phone with the USCIS and initiated a service inquiry. I also asked about my security checks, but she said when she looked at my case, it didn't have any info about it (whatever that means).

I'll keep posting any updates I have on my case.

If anyone else is EB3 and just had their priority date become current, feel free to add to this thread.

Same here. I initiated inquiry 2 weeks ago, waiting for results. No word about security check.
My son was lucky enough, he got reply in 2 days by email(surprise! :D )
Here what he got:

You got a service inquiry response by email? Do they automatically send you an email if you have an account on the uscis status check system?

My son got, I and my wife don't. We (I and son) both have accounts with USCIS. That's all I can say.
 
Hi Friends ,

Just to make sure ,I have my PD july 2002 which EB3 INDIA is it different then EB3 ROW /RIR ? How can we check priority date other than visa buletin . Please help me to understand these two different scenario .

Visa bulletin is the only source this time. The only difference - you are checking for PD EB3 India that is currently 05/08/2001, I'm checking EB3 "All Charge-ability Areas Except Those Listed" or "Rest of the Word" (ROW) that is 08/01/2003.

I would say - first thing - get to know if Security Checks are cleared or not...either try calling Service Center every day, to see if you can get a lucky rep to tell you the details...or try Infopass...

Once the security checks are cleared, approval or RFE / FP Notice may come next...If not, namecheck battle - is a different battle altogether!
 
Actually My file was trasferred to locat office (New Ark) and my interview had been complited so I guess name check and other security check stuff must be done (I hope so ) , Mine was unfortunet it was trasfferred local office when EB3 was current and due to local processing que I had to wait and during that period EB3 retrogetion occured .

So you're saying that the security checks DON'T include the name check? I thought they lumped in the fingerprints/name check/etc all under the "security check" umbrella?

security check - namechecks....yep...all the same thing....just differnt words for "FBI Namecheck" process...
 
My PD has become current today. (Aug20th, 2002)
I am in Pacific time zone, and I noticed that at 8 Am, my wife's LUD changed to 5/1/07......and after 3 hours my LUD changed to 5/1 too.

when I tried to see the detailed status, it shows a red text error message as following.

You received this message because you repeatedly entered invalid receipt numbers.

If you are blocked when you try again, it is because you either repeated your mistake or because your total volume of inquiries over the past 24 hours has at that point exceeded our overall volume limit, in which case you will be blocked for a period of time.

actually I haven't tried to access my case for last several weeks.It seems that USCIS website has some problem with status details UI or they are blocking it.

I remember when our I140 was approved, LUD changed in morning, and I got my magic emails around midnight.

is it going to happen again?

Congratulations! At least they are looking at your case. I just checked my I-485 and the LUD hasn't changed since I did an address change last year.

LUD has changed on both cases today again. it shows 5/2/07 now.
I was able to access the status details, but there is no change.

Alright, it finally happened. At 3:30 pm, May 3rd, I received the following email:

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: LIN05170510XX

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On May 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status.

I initiated a service inquiry on May 1st and had no change in LUD until today. I even checked my online status 1 hr before I got this email and it still hadn't changed.

Thanks to everyone on this board who helped answer all those nagging questions. Thanks especially to Saras and Unitednations who have helped a lot of people, not just myself.

It really sucks not knowing when it will happen, but have patience guys, it will happen in the end.

After long long wait, I have got magic emails, 3 minuts ago.
I am EB3, ROW, with PD Aug 20th, 2002.

my LUD changed on 5/1 then on 5/2, and I have got the approval emails in the evening of 5/4/07.

all is well that ends atleast

Good to see quick approvals. The truth is that this retrogression has left the Service Centers with little to do and hence current PDs are processed very quickly. Ofcourse, this is assuming that there are no namecheck issues or RFEs.

Anyway, enjoy the freedom and make the most of it.
