H1 Visa Status to H4 Visa Status-Completing 6 years on H visa

I came to US in June 2001 on H4 Visa. I was on H4 visa status for almost 3 and half years. I got converted to H1 Visa in October 2004 and I am still working on H1 Visa. Due some personal reasons I want to convert back to H4 Visa status in couple of months.
Can I change back to H4 Visa as I am near to complete my 6 years of stay on H Visa. If yes, can I convert back to H1 Visa status after one year? Please help.

Your H1 period will be total 6 years without a LC pending. H4 will not count in your H1 duration.
Please help.
