Marriage-based GC, but spouse laid off after marriage :(

I work in the US on H1B visa. I got married to US Citizen in November 2006. We filed for Family based Green Card in Jan 2007. She filed the I-130 for me, and stated that she was financially stable to support me.
However, in Feb 2007, she got laid off.
Can anyone tell me how this will affect my application ? I have a very stable job myself, and make enough money to support both of us. Are there any steps I can take to improve my chances of GC-Approval ?
Please advise .. Really need all the help I can get!

if she finds another job before interview, you will be fine. If not, you can be your own co-sponsor, or you can find somebody else to co-sponsor you. Read the rules for I-864 carefully.

Thank you for your reply, Lucy! I will ask my wife to find a job quickly ;)

On a more serious note: my wife already has a townhome under her name. Should I add my name to the title (and her mortgage) ? Will this strengthen my case ?

it might if you have been married a short time. We have been married for two years at the time of the interview, so they never asked us why the house was in my husband's name only. He bought it before the wedding, and we never added my name to the deed. We didn't bring any docs showing the ownership to the interview at all. We did, however, have a bunch of joint accounts, joint taxes, insurances, utility bills, credit cards, etc.

it is advisable to add your name. They definitely want to see that you are living together. Also, any bills like utilities, phone, insurance, etc. are good. Joint bank account.
