Name Check Process ?

a quote from that testimony:

Approximately 85% of name checks are electronically returned as having "No Record" within 72 hours. A "No Record" indicates that the FBI's Central Records System contains no identifiable information regarding this individual.

You would think then that approximately 85% of us would then receive our I-485 approvals well within the CIS published processing times. But do we? Hell no! Somebody is bullshitting big time, either this dude or the clowns at CIS

well... maybe I was a little too pessimistic there.

I mean, think about it, if your case is processed within published CIS processing time there would've been no need to come to this forum, or to trackitt.com etc. So perhaps all of us here, that are so frustrated with the long times and the futility of it all, are the minority ~15% of cases that take too long.

probably, these 15% come to forums like these. Even if you are current, in terms of Visa numbers, FBI security clearance is the all time equalizer.
Any ways, we just got to wait.

Well I could not resist laughing loud on your comments which proportionaly fit CIS efficiency. :D

Do you mean Change for Better or Change for Worst. I think it is change for worst, infact I never noticed when that testimony results came in action, as I see everyone crying even though FBI claims efficiency.

Folks.... This is Year - 2003 testimony.... We are in 2007 --- world has changed... buddy's

Exactly. I realized that it was a dated testimony too, but, even back in 2003 people routinely were being stuck in name check for three years. And you can assume now it's only worse. I mean there's a lot more people applying each time.

Also, each time that CIS proposes a fee increase they write it is too help improve efficiency and expedite processes. Every single time, without exception, they give that as a reason. And it never comes to fruition.
