I visited with rtd, no green card. You don’t need visa. But they asked my status in US and my green card. I said no gc yet but applied. He wanted to see my receipt, I showed him. No issues, less than 5 min.

I know you have to return your current RTD before they issue a new one. For those who have done this, when did USCIS sent the RFE to ask to have your current RTD mailed to them? Was it close to the time they were adjudicating your new RTD application?

I applied RTD in march 2021, before receiving it I applied for the second RTD in July 2021. I received 1st RTD in september, and in February 2022 they sent me RFE to surrender my 1st rtd. As soon they received it my 2nd RTD was approved in March 2022.
 
It is so frustrating to wait more than a year to obtain a travel document. Basically we can't travel even though we are legal in this country.

And green card holders but nooo the USCIS loves us way too much to let us travel freely until we are citizens loool

My friend just traveled to France last week with his Green Card and passport. He had no issues to enter the US. But specialists say you can have problems when you apply for citizenship. Better don’t risk.

i didn't mean anyone should use their COP passport that's does not correct at all, and he might mess up on his case when it comes to the N-400!! you misunderstood my comment big time.

Not at all! I completely understood your words. I am just saying that I am aware that some people are traveling with their home country passports. And everybody knows how dangerous it is. But people do! I hope nobody here do that!!!

My application was approved today. Timeline is:

March 25, 2024 Case Was Approved
March 25, 2024 We produced your Reentry Permit.
January 30, 2023 The fingerprints relating to your Form I-131 Application for Travel Document, were taken.
January 24, 2023 We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. Our Nebraska Service Center location is working on your case.

My previous RTD was expiring in June 2023, so I applied before it expired and didn't mail the previous document to them (I wrote something like "will send when I receive RFE" and they didn't ask for it).
