I just used my normal signature (an Initial followed by a chicken scrawl) everywhere - N400, during fingerprinting and the Naturalization Certificate. In fact at the Oath ceremony we were specifically told it does not matter how you sign it. In my case they had use the photo and signature taken...
Unfortunately I don't think my case will be of much help to you. I sent in my N-400 nearly 5 years AFTER I became eligible. In fact my GC was set to expire in the middle of this year.
Yes (Baltimore DO)
Yes. I had my picture, and signature, taken - and those were the ones used on the Naturalization certificate (not the ones I sent with the N-400 form).
Figured it’s time I contributed something after getting a lot of help from other posters here.
Timeline:
Done with the interview and oath ceremony early April/2012 in Baltimore. Application was sent early December/2011. Interview notification letter was received about a month before...
And take copies...
I was asked to submit a copy of one of my originals and when I said I did not have it the IO wasn't too happy. After some grumbling she made the copies herself.
If you have an adopted child...
Make sure you take all the adoption related papers and copies. I was asked to show them. Did not have copies and the IO was not too happy - but ended up making copies for herself.
my experience
I did not mention anything related to traffic tix on the form - but had all the paperwork ready just in case. At the interview, when it came to the relevant question, the IO asked me "Have you ever been arrested?". I said no. And she moved on.
Probably no.
Taking them for fingerprinting is probably ok, if there's someone else to watch them, but for the interview I'm guessing they'll get bored pretty quick - it's a long wait.
