Your Experience at the port of entry (POE)

I am in US & planning to go to India in Dec for a short visit.

I am planning show my valid H1 visa stamp from my old employer & my H1 approval notice from my new employer at the port of entry. (POE)

I would like to hear from some of you who entered in a similar way. Can you please share your experince. What kind of questions were you asked at the POE? Did the officer at POE ask why did you not get a visa stamp from the new employer, etc?

I will really appreciate any help. Thanks a lot

If you Visa has validity for more than 6 months at the time of entering the POI, no issue at all. you need not go for visa stamping in India.

The Immig. officer at the POI, would ask the question, whether you are with the same company or a new company...jsut tell him the (new)company that you are working for, currently.

Remember, only if you have a visa, with the old company, still valid for more than 6 months. I may be wrong regd. the 6 months or it can also be 2 months....ask someone or wait for more replies in this forum.
