Gurus -

I have an issue where I went abroad for almost 6 months (but still less than 6 mths). My father unfortunately passed away and had to take care of family business - e.g: hire manager to oversee operations, family issues, wills, mother etc.

During this time I had a small business in the US which was providing services for the foreign based business. My wife was working for this business on H1B. I really considered myself working for the US business.

So I guess I should put that during this time I was employed at the US business and not put anything about the foreign business. I also had a reentry during this time but nobody asked me at port of entry.

Also after I get US citizenship I might decide to move overseas for some time to work on this business. But to put things straight - I did come back and have been continuously present in the US (not 1 day break) for 10 months now.

I want to be truthful but do not want to reveal too much. I think it will make the interview go faster. Do I have to put that I was employed in the foreign business when I really can say that I was employed here in the US? The US business was paying taxes etc while I was away. So I am thinking that I will put that I was employed here in the US while I was away - does anybody see issues with that?

If asked I can say that I was wrapping some family issues abroad. When asked for specific info - obviously I will say the truth about death of my dad, family issues, family business etc. But I doubt anybody will ask anyways.
