"Your case is under review" I-485

Hi guys,

My I-485 is way out of processing time (filed on 2/9/05). Two requests about status of application were sent. First one was without answer, second time I received an answer "Your case is under review". What does it mean? Is my case already past name check or not? How much longer should I wait for some progress? Was anyone else in the same boat, with the same message and already got some result?

I already had a FP in October, and nothing since then, no message change on-line since they received my case in February. And, my center is TSC.

Any words of encouragement for me? I am getting really nervous. A lot of friends who filed later already got their stuff.

Thanks

That's almost meaningless typical response from CIS.
You can just find out they have your file, not lost.

Every time you inquire, you will get many other types of those irresponsible answers, which make applicants frustrated.

You'd better be positive. You checked they didn't lose your file.

Not very encouraging... I am trying to be positive. One of my friend's answer to a similar enquiry was "under name check" - and it is months this way, and another - "under review, expect decision in 60 days" - and 60 days are not over yet. In latter case, should she really expect an decision in 60 days or it is just a figure of speech? Do they have like typical responces from which we may draw conclusions, or just officers respond any way they feel at the moment? What are other typical answers?

Sorry for rambling, I really need this GC... Is there anything I can do to speed the process up???

485 response depends on your category and where you are from.
If you are applying in EB-3, it is not surprising that you have not get response. If you are from China or India, it is also not surprising since you have to wait for your PD. I do see some Chinese also at TSC, did the 485 submission on Feb, and did not get the response.

I am from non-retrogressed country and my case is NIW (EB2). Priority date for I-485 in TSC is july 2005 now (my case is Feb. 2005).

I mean, if they say "under review, wait for 60 days" - should we believe them and count on 60 days? ANd if they say "under review" - does it mean the same and can we calculate out if the case is past name check in any of the cases? Or it just mean they did not lose the cases?

Another option

Dear Friend,

The USCIS website recommends that you should call if your filing date is 60 days past the processing date reported on their website. I would like to suggest you the same thing: Call USCIS to directly ask about the case!

Good luck and please give us an update!

Это и был ответ от них. После ответа снова надо ждать эти 60 дней, прежде чем можно снова спрашивать...

Спасибо!
