Yet Another Transit Visa Question

Owing to the complexity of the itinerary I took the liberty to post a new thread. Here is my question. Any replies with past experiences of inferential logic will be most welcome.

Mostly I have seen experiences related to Germany. Is anyone else sailing in the same boat as I ?

Flight details:

Onward:
======

Newark Airport --> London Gatwick Airport (Continental Airlines)
- Around 4 hours gap in the connecting flight
London Gatwick Airport --> Dubai (Emirates)
- Around 2 hours gap in teh connection flight
Dubai - Hyderabad (Emirates).

Return:
=====

Hyderabad - Dubai (Emirates).
- Around 8 hours gap in the connecting flight
Dubai --> London Gatwick Airport (Emirates)
- 1 hour gap in the connecting flight
London Gatwick Airport --> Newark Airport (Virgin Atlantic)

Since my H1B visa expired, I have no option but to use AP. I do not have EAD. My wife is utilizing EAD.

Observations:
==========

If the following documents are carried with me it would be a smooth passage sans hassles.

1) Photoopy of I485 receipt (or do i need to have the original with me ?)
2) Latest employment letter, pay stubs, AP, H1 papers, wife's EAD or photocopy of EAD.
3) I checked the UK embassy requirements for UK transit visa and found that by carrying the aforementioned documents, I would not need a transit visa.

Questions:
========

1) Would I need transit visa for UK & UAE ?
2) Are any of my assumptions inaccurate ?
3) I simply hate carrying originals. Please indicate which original documents need to be carried ?
4) Are there any specific requirements for carriers viz., Continental, Emirates. Virgin Atlantic.

TIA.

Visa

I dont think you need any transit visa for both the countries. But better check with the British consulate.
Have a safe journey.

Transit Visa for Canada

I haven't checked the Canadian visa process. But from what I can recollect after going thru the forum replies, I believe you need a transit visa. Another good source would be to check with Canadian Consulate website.

Usually they mention whether you need a transit visa, if you are from a group of countries or you intend to sight see the country and then board a connecting flight in a few days etc etc.

If you valid H1 and visa, you would not need. But again make sure from other sources.

Good Luck.

for Frankfurt

I checked with German Embassy and was told that if you do not have a valid visa to the US, you DO need transit visa at Frankfurt airport to change flights. I will be travelling with AP and explained that to the rep. but she insisted that I must have transit visa.
Basically, if you have expired visa on your passort, you should have transit visa, just advance parole won't do.
