How many I-140 redos are out there pending? Some that I\'m aware of are:

Suri Submitted late 9/00; Approved; waiting for I-1485 approval
Singh Submitted early 10/00; waiting
Venkat1 Submitted early 10/00; waiting
Aqualung ?
ragu123 Submitted, and returned becuase of missing check; resubmiited?
despo Submitted mid 10/00; waiting

Could you guys and others in a similar boat update your info? Earlier it appeared that most such cases were being approved in 30 days or less, but we now seem to have some cases that are pushing that limit, or even going over. I\'m trying to figure out if there is some reason for the longer lead times, such as: Audit created a backlog; H1-B is diverting resources (since my understaning is that it is the same section, Business Services, that deals with both H1-Bs and I-140s, as opposed to the Resident Services section which deals with I-1485s); indication, or lack thereof, on an application to say that it was an amended I-140.

Please share your thoughts.

I got second RFE as redo of I-140.
Receipt date (I-140) : 13th sept 2000
approval date (I-140): 28th sept 2000.

9/27 Amended I-140 (redo) sent
9/29 AVR message changed to RFE
10/2 Attorney received RFE (W2, paystubs, employer letter of continued employement)
10/19 Attorney sent RFE reply to INS.
10/23 AVR message updated that RFE reply received 10/23
11/3 Second RFE.
Called IIO today but lady did not provide any info about what the 2nd RFE was for. Total waste of time.
Current Status : Amended I-140 not approved. Attorney will respond to 2nd RFE with receipt of amended I-140 if this is what the RFE is about. Not aware of contents of 2nd RFE. Waiting.
Frustration Level : High.

Looks like your 2nd RFE is going to be 140 redo. You did good thing by sending your 140 in advance.

Hang on there guys, you should hear your 140 approvals soon.

I sent my reply to the RFE on Oct 06, received date Oct 12 th. Still waiting. Do you think I might get another RFE--the company name changed from xxx to xxx-yyy. Is that the reason why I am getting the approval yet?. Please advise.

Updated Status:
I checked my status using I-140 Amendment Notice # (missing check notice dated Oct 17)through Automatic Voice message yesterday.

I did check this number last week, AVM says "no further information"

But yesterday (11/08/2000)
The Automated Voice Message (AVM) at VSC Says "I-485 - case takes
anywhere between 365 to 495 days".

Also my original I-485 case # status still saya "RFE sent on Sep 29".

Really confusing?. Any help...

RD: Aug 05, 1999, ND : Aug 25, 1999
RFE for pay-stubs, tax forms, W-2 & employment Verification letter on Sep 28, 2000.
Sent reply on Oct 20, 2000, including I-140 redo petition, since company merged once *AND* was acquired once.
AVM still says RFE sent on Sep 28, 2000
Still not receipt for I-140.
Very concerned that INS has still not issued even a receipt for I-140 or acknowledged reply to RFE.
