Finally, after starting the GC process 8 years ago. I finally got the emails this morning "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident." for myself and family.

Let my case be an example to all of you out there who have been waiting for years, that yes, it can happen for you too. But for those who have been waiting for lesser periods, do not lose heart, my case is an exception and I pray to the good Lord that this kind of delay is not in your future. And for the people who have been waiting for even lesser periods of time, do not be impatient :)

Most of the old timers are already approved and I am not sure if any one of them visit this site anymore either. But just in case they still visit from time to time, I'm DONE! :) And thank you for all your kind words and also to those who had not so kind words for me in the past, no hard feelings on my part.

Even though everything was clear, I could not figure out what the holdup was, so I wrote to the Ombudsman about 10 days ago, using the form DHS-7001 located at the link: http://www.dhs.gov/ximgtn/programs/editorial_0497.shtm

Thanks Rajiv for a fine website, and a finer community service.

Happy To See Old Timer approval. I know how hard and how sweet waiting and approval.

All the best!

Thanks LB.

I know no words can console people who have been waiting for years, but I hope you keep the faith and 'try' to stay positive. I know it was hard for me and how hard it is for you. Believe me, I know!

My best wishes for you.

Just an update. Received the card in the mail last night. It was nice to finally hold the card with my picture on it in my hands :)

Wishing all older waiters very good luck in the coming days.
