Yeppeeeeee....FP appointment :-)

Wow, so awesome: I just went to get the mail and guess what I got?!
A FP-notice for my I-485! So the other one for the EAD can't be far. :)
Feel so relieved!

Guess I am more of a pessimist then, since I am genuinely surprised... ;)

One more question... so the timeline for the EAD is the same for all of us that filed all the forms at the same time? No matter what the DO is?

Then why is there a timeline for the EAD under the Harford DO? When does that one apply? So I shouldn't go by that one?

The DO ones are probably for all other cases of EADs (not I-485 based).

There are many other catogories that you may obtain EAD under. For example, OPT based EAD for graduated F-1 is filed at the local DO. Hope this helps.

We have the experience of not recieving the notice letters for application forms at the same time although they were filed on time. You should optimistically anticipate the other fingerpring notice. What is your DO?

My story is a long troubling one, I actually filed my I-485 back in September 2002 for marriage to USC wife (NYC DO). I didn't get any official notice until November 2003 (I think we call that ND on this forum) by the way the NYC DO back then was scary, thousands of people lining up outside everyday.

But as I've also read on this forum with someone else, my wife became increasingly jealous of my new found freedom when I got my work card. Well anyway I started to receieve FP appointmets for my I-485 but the marriage was deteriorating at a rapid rate. We were going to split up and probably get a divorce eventually and it was a real difficult time. My wife admitted not really loving me anymore. She also said she didn't really want a life with me and wanted to go back to school instead.

I had been talking to a girl in Indiana who was a good friend of mine, well we fell in love with each other over time. So I filed for divorce from my wife and eventually remarried and Im now very happy. I refiled just recently (Indianapolis DO) and we have our fingers crossed, I know how it looks on paper..but Im only human.

Hope that wasn't too long of a boring story..but you did ask :D

I was curious, and I hope you are happy with your new life and I hope everything goes well with you application. :)

My DO is Denver. I seem to be the only one from Denver in this forum right now.
Yeah, I realized we filed at the same time, that's why I was starting to worry about my FP appointment. But now I got it shortly after you. (Hooray!) Maybe I can use you as a forecast... ;)
You got both your FP notices, so I'm guessing (and praying) that I will get the other one soon, too.

"Where to File" instructions on I-765 specify that applicants who fall under (a)(10), (c)(11), (c)(12), (c)(14), (c)(16), (c)(18) categories need to file with their local DO.

Employment based EAD's also fall under the (c)(9) category, but they send their EAD to the service center where they filed their I-485 and not the NBC where family based EADs are processed.

Aight... timeout!!!

Patty - I'm talking about FP Code 3 - for I-485... my husband didn't apply for EAD or AP as he has a valid L1 visa and he wants to maintain that status.

Ari - now you know, I am not expecting any EAD or AP to popup online (as you can see in my signature), thus no worries :D... and anyways... its my husband who was getting a bit paranoid with the way his FP went... but he too is cool now  But tell me... does the FP for I-485 also reflects a change in online status??? Should I be worried?

Yep, I just realized shortly before you posted, you are right! I'm an idiot. :)

Like i mentioned earlier, my I-485 appeared online the day i had my FP/Bio. I also read similar experiences from few applicants here regarding a LUD after FP/Bio.

Eitherways, you should not rely on the online case status and risk affecting your blood pressure :p

Yes get so worried that you can't function anymore... :p

When you check your case status online, you get to read the following:
"Note: Case Status is available for Applications and Petitions which were filed at USCIS Service Centers. If you filed at a USCIS Local Office, your case status may not be reviewable online but for processing times on forms filed at that Office please, click here."

So, perhaps if your application is in the valley, then I guess you won't see application update because California Service Center is down here :p

The San Jose DO is now processing cases with ND of end of July 2005. Good luck and it is always good to call up that 800 number and check on them.

Today, 10 days after my ND, I got my FP appointment for next week. The form said FPs for the 485 and 765. Are they the only ones you get FPs for?
:) :)

Wow, this is blazing fast!!! Congrats! As far as I know, these are the only two ones that will be needed for your application. Can someone else confirm? Is this a record breaking FP appointment or what?!

Good luck.

Our online status has been working well for us - not that I'd bet my life on it... but we've received status emails a few days in advance to the actual notices and yes, I sent my AOS package to Chicago Lockbox.

Thanks, yes, I'd keep checking the DO processing dates and wouldn't hesitate to call that 1-800 no. if something seems out of place. Btw, current processing date for I-485 at San Jose DO is Oct 17 :)

Does someone know what they exactly mean by the processing date? Does it mean that they are sending out the interview letters for cases filed around this date or does it mean that they are actually conducting interviews for such cases :-/.

Thanks

IC man, you were right. I got the second FP letter for the EAD today.
Hooray, I'm so relieved! :)

Excellent question, anyone with an answer?

Yep and I think that's the picture that they use for the GC so if you care try looking your best :)

Basically they just take your fingerprints and one picture. Mine was really fast, it took like 15 min and I didn't have to wait at all. Make sure you don't have any backpacks or packages since they won't allow them in.
