Yellow letter

Is USCIS send yellow letter and IL together? If not then what is the typical gap between them.
 
I think not every one will receive Yellow Letters. It might depend on DO. I haven't received Yellow Letter, I directly got Interview Letter. But, from what I read here, it looks like first they will send Yellow Letter, followed by Interview Letter.

I actually received the yellow letter about 1 week after I received my Interview letter. It just asked me to bring my state-issued ID.
