Yellow Letter question

When do we get the yellow letter, if there is one? Is it before Interview letter or after? I read on another post that the yellow letter is sent by NBC before transferring to DO, is that true? In that case, is it safe to assume that if we get IL, implies that there will not be a YL?

Some got IL before YL and others got YL before IL. Both IL and YL
nowadaya are from NBC. I believe their flow chart is that YL is a branch
of the work flow. After YL jobs are given to some IO to generate, teh intervieww process does not
depend on YL process any more becaus ethey are parallel to each other. Whether
you get YL or not or when you get it will depend on the IO whose job is to give YL.

Thanks WBH.

Does the online status change with YL? Right now, my online status shows that interview has been scheduled. If they were to generate a YL, will the online status change to something like RFE?

Thanks.

Many dont get Yellow letter and get only Interview letter with Interview date. YL is not must. online status does not change for YL.

Today, I received YL with a request to bring Driver's License for Citizenship Interview. I have not received Interview letter yet.

Any idea why they sent this yellow letter? Is it going to impact processing time for my application?

thanks

... to reconfirm your residence. Is there some issue with that - such as not filing AR-11, recent move, not changed DL?

... usually NO. Even if there is some question, you can sort it out at interview with proper documentation. Delay will be only if you can not address some issue even at the interview.

EDIT: Sometimes YL asks for documentations, they do not even check during interview. There is a probability that it is a non-issue altogether.

I'm not sure about 'reconfirming' residence. I haven't moved since my GC and I dont' see how they could re-confirm my residence by mailing out a letter.

I agree with you on your other point though - that it isn't something to be worried about (I hope :) )

Well, nothing is stopping you from giving a friend's address because processing in state A is faster than your state, or because they provide same day oath vs a 2 month delay in your state/DO. Such situations can happen, and while when they ask for DL is not consistent, I read it as them trying to validate residency.
