I made check to DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY instead of US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. Do you think my application will be rejected because of this?
and also if application is rejected by lockbox-how long does it takes to be back?
Personally, I feel that if you just forgot the US in writing the check, that it should not be rejected. However, this is also dependent on who is reviewing your file at the lockbox. Did you include G-1145 to receive an email or text message on when the application is accepted by the lockbox? If you did then as soon as you get the text and/or email then you are safe knowing that the application wasn't rejected. I personally, never had a application rejected by the lockbox, so I don't know how long it would take for it to be returned but I think that others have mention that it can take up to a week. You can review the following page from USCIS that explains the lockbox process, and there is also an email address that you can send to if you application gets rejected to find out why, or if you have any questions about the lockbox process: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=1a71898ab9c8f210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD
