Hello all,
I just realized that i have put wrong social security number on my N-400 form. I have already done my biometrics almost a month back. i have been hoping to see my case being moved to "Testing and interview" stage but it hasnt so far. Out of curiosity i checked almost 20-30 cases ahead of me ( simply by putting numbers ahead of me on the status web site) and almost 80% of the cases are in " Testing and interview" stage. Mine is not. Also no notification from USCIS or anything.
Just wonder if having the wrong SS number could be causing the delay?
I have called USCIS and FBI with absolutely no success. they make you go through different options but in the end reject giving out any information.

anyone in similar situation or insight please respond.
appreciate your input and time.

anyone? any answers?
please help.

Honestly speaking, no one knows. Here are scanarios

(1) USCIS find otu the name and SSN do not match and thus hold the process and will send you a request to provide correct one
(2) USCIS just take SSN for granted and act as if it is right one. In this case, you face two scanarios
(2.1) Correct SSN at the interview and life goes one
(2.2) Correct SSN at the interview but since SSN is used in criminal background search so that backgorund check will be repeated

thanks for your input, appreciate it.
i have not received anything till date. my understanding was that they do finish the checks within 24-48 hours and should have complained or written to me asking for the correct info. i also thought that for N400 app they usually go by the A number ( as there could be cases where people may not have SS number or ITIN number instead) and SS number could be secondary, besides they could find out everything about me ( including the correct SSN) just by linking all the info together i.e. A number, DOB, name etc.
I am really hoping it could at least get me to the interview stage where i can provide the correct SSN to the IO.
In the meantime i dispatched a letter to NBC in Missouri stating my mistake and giving them the correct SSN. hope it will make a difference.
thanks again
