I have applied for my first H1b extension, and USCIS has sent me a I797 with only a 1year validity instead of the normal 3years. I have had the company lawyer file a petition in Oct of 2006 itself, however, it is now Jan2007 we have not heard anything yet. Has anyone faced this issue, and if so how long did it take to get resolved? Is there any way to speed up the process as I only have till September of 2007 as my H1 expiry date.
