Good Morning to all GC people who are waiting for it since more than 2 years…

I believe the best morning would be when you see the changed online message “ your case has been approved…” still waiting for it…

Ok, let me come to business,
What do you guys think of sending written inquiry for pending AOS. This is 546th day of my pending 485 (Oh yes, I remember it..).

My thinking is that, it might put a flag on your case and may expedite the process.

I agree with you.

My case is pending for over 600 days and now we received the notice to redo our finger printing. I am going to wait for about 30 days after finger printing and if no movement would write a status enquiry letter.

Is that helpful? My case has been there for almost two years. I wrote a letter to INS last Nov to tell them what problems I know. They replied an explanation letter and nothing happened after that.

I don’t the right answer of this question. I have read few posts here, where people have got approval within 2-3 weeks of sending status inquiry letter.
The reason you might want to explain in your letter is that your fingerprint will be expiring within X(Whatever timeline you have remaining on your expiration date) time if decision is further delayed.

Also, I have heard from some of my friends(according to their attorney) that, once they reply to your inquiry they will put the case last in the queue and it may even delay much more.

I would like to hear more from some of experience members of this form.

Please express your views…

That is as ingenuous an explanation as I have ever come across, that if one attempted to inquire about the status of one's application, it will be shuffled to the bottom of the deck by the INS in a show of vindictiveness!

I guess this extended state of suspended animation (so near, yet so far) makes the brains of 485 waiters fertile breeding grounds for paranoia.:p :p

We need to get a life beyond this all-consuming passion for things green.

KN, Write your letter by all means; Going by INS's penchant for inaction, it is unlikely to do any good, but I do not believe it will bring your green-crad quest any harm either.

Good Luck.
