WRIT OF MANDAMUS to win AOS based on marriage - success rate

Hello everyone,
I am contemplating of filing a Writ of mandamus against FBI, USCIS and DHS due to extensive delay with my AOS as PR based on marriage.
Could please someone advise me what are my chances of wining the case to force the USCIS to issue my GC?
And it is not going to be a conditional GC anymore - I am married to the USC for more than 2 years.
My name check is pending since 03/01/2005. I have exausted all possible ways to put an end to this never ending process: multiple FOIPA requests (with "NO RECORD" response), contacting Ombudsman 5 times, congressman and two senators, INFOPASS appointments at the USCIS (with "name check is still pending") - all in vain!
The officer at the local USCIS office where I filed the I-485 etc. claims that
filing the Writ of Mandamus would not help in my situation. But, he is most likely lying as at other multiple occasions.
What is your experience with delays like mine?

I'd say just go for it. what do you have to lose anyways? worse comes worse you will be in the same situation.
Just follow the lawsuit thread on the citizenship section of this forum and you'll find a good support group over there.

You've waiting long enough. Do your homework carefully and you'll be successfull in the end.

which district court / state are you planning to file? It would be good idea to register to pacer (http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/) go to your district court and search cases with code 890 - other statuatory actions which are cases like WOM against uscis. you will get an idea of any previous cases files and how they were judged.

Thanks for the info!
I will be filing in the Oregon district court which is not quite common at least
in this forum. I have no idea what statistics they have on WOM cases, if any, but following your advise I have registered for PACER so will find out shortly.
