Would this be a plausible loophole?

My Filippina fiancee and I have run into a bit of a... technicality, squashing my chances of a K1 visa. The work visa idea didn't go through (see my post history for details), but I have another idea.

If I could sponsor her for a student visa, and she got her green card, allowing her to stay here indefinitely, could we then enter a domestic marriage? I understand that she would have to actually naturalize herself before we could visit her family in the Philippines, but it's better than nothing.

What do you mean by sponsor her student visa? Could you explain? Student visas are issued once an applicant receives an I-20 from an institutation and the applicant convinces a US consul that he/she will return after completing their studies.

A student visa will not lead to her green card. That will come via employment, if she finds the right employer.
