Would premium processing help?

Hi,

I am filing I-140/I485 concurrently next month. I am contemplating going for premium processing for I-140. My EB2 PD is Dec 2004. Would going for premium processing help in expediting I-485 process. I understand that USCIS would not touch AOS petition unless I-140 is approved. Since my PD is not so recent, is it prudent to assume (?) that even if dates retrogress in coming months, it might not go too far back for EB2 India. So would it help to go for premium I-140 processing rather than wait for 6 odd months for regular processing?

I still have 2.5 yrs on my H1, so am not yet worried about extension.

Thanks,
A

That is scary that they will not touch AOS petition unless I-140 is approved. Who told you this ? I would appreciate any pointers to that information.

Well I read it somewhere on this forum. But your enquiry made me investigate and upon going through details of concurrent filing, I guess my initial statement isnt true.

USCIS does start initial processing (FP and name check) while I-140 is pending approval.

hopefully no one gets misinformed by the initial post as I was by some other.
