Would my Mom lose her benifits if I sponsor her to the US?

When I get my GC I want to sponsor my Mom to adjust her status to the US and be able to stay w/me and my husband she is 67 and not in the greatest health and I dont want her living alone neither does she want to be alone anymore...She is from Canada and gets old age pension and survive benifits from when my dad passed away if I sponsor her will she lose all that or be able to keep it?? Anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you

Ok first of all, this is a question on Canadian-related issues. I'm not sure if the folks on this forum can help.

And second of all, I hate to be the one breaking it, but you can't sponsor your mom when you get a green card. Only citizens can sponsor parents.

That is irrelevant. The building doorman can sponsor his mother if he makes enough money (and is a USC or a PR). But 'sponsor' in this sense relates to the affidavit of support.

The OP was talking about petitioning for his mother and adjusting her status. He cannot do that.

If she wins the DV lottery, she doesn't need him in particular to sponsor her. Any unrelated person could do that.
