Working while H1B petition is still under processal?

I was on my OPT until recently. During the last week of my OPT period my employer filed for an H1B for me. I need to find out if I can continue working now that my OPT has expired and I only have recieved the INS receipt notice so far for the H1B petition. If someone can point out where can I get the right information on this issue I'll greatly appreciate that.
