Working on EAD or H1B 7th Year extension?

Hi All

These are the detail of my case

LC filed Jan01 Approved on April 02
I-140 ND. 08/05/02 AD. 05/07/03
I-485 RD. 04/18/03.
EAD RD. 04/18/03 AD. 05/24/03
FP Notice Notice 06/23/03

I have a question about using the EAD.

I'm still working on H1B (6th year status valid until August03)

Questions:
1) Can the H1B be extended for the 7th year (based on the fact that my LC took more than a year) eventhough my I-140 is already approved and I485 already filed? or I'm going to switch to EAD as soon as my H1B status expires. I need to travel and I don't have the AP approved yet, that's why I would like to get the H1B extension and get stamping in my country to get back to US ( any issues here?)

2) Can I use the EAD to get a second Job, in any area, even not related to my GC application skillsets or start a side business.

--- You can get 7th year H1 extension
or I'm going to switch to EAD as soon as my H1B status expires.
-- You should have filed 7th year extension 3-4 months back, I don’t think you will get 7th extension approved by August 2003, but once you file you can be on H1 as you applied before expiry of your I-94 or work with EAD

-- File 7th year with premium processing you may get extension in 15-20 days ( I don’t know if 7th year is also processed through Premium processing) talk to your lawyer

--- Yes, but for GC you should be working with your employer full time on H1 or EAD, you can use EAD for any kind of part time job
 
Your anwser to the second question give the impression that one can work on H1 for GC while using EAD for part time?

--You can work on H1 with GC sponsored employer but if you use EAD with Employer for full time position or part time with EAD you will not be on H1, if primary applicant uses EAD he is no more on H1, once EAD is used for part time or with employer for full time H1 status is no longer valid
