Working Iraq, wife may be deported

Hello all, sorry this is a bit lengthy.
Quck background. Married Chinese woman. Approved for immigration, and obtained green card. She went to the USA, then her daughter had her interview scheduled, so she returned back to China to be with her, and to accompany her to the USA.

I was chatting with my wife this morning, and she relayed some disturbing info this morning. Apparently, someone from immigration was snooping around and asking my wife's friend some questions, such as "why is her husband in Iraq?" and "why isn't she living with her father-in-law".

Obviously, USCIS is doubting our marriage. Which is funny, because USCIS and NVC both approved my petition when they knew I was working in Iraq. In addition, USCIS approved my stepdaughter's application and just recently the US embassy approved the visa, while they knew I am working in Iraq. I have been in Iraq the past 16 months, and the USCIS, NVC, and being I have a security clearance, the US Government has known this all along.

There's really not much I can do to fight USCIS while I am in Iraq. This is no dream job, threat of harm is real, the harsh desert makes life difficult. On top of this, I am separated from the people I most care about. But, after 9 months of unemployment, this was the first job I could find. If I did not have a family to support, I wouldn't have taken this job. At the same time, this job has been a blessing. I am now debt free, my wife is debt free, and we are laying a solid financial foundation, enough so I can quit next April.

OK, now, my question is, what should I make of USCIS's actions? Should I hire a lawyer?
We have records of regular visits, photos together, and well over 1500 pages of chat transcripts. There are chats of us being loving, arguing, fighting, and making up, and more recently, her relentless pressure for me to leave now.

Thanks guys

Is she still in China?
I don't think they have doubts about your marriage, they already gave your wife a green card and she has already been here.
Why would you want to hire a lawyer now? Your wife have a GC, she can come anytime. They are working on a hunch and let them speculate.
Hiring a attorney now will seem a little odd to them at this point. If they get more aggressive with her like intense questioning, she can tell them at that point that your attorney will get back to them to answer their queries.

Yes, she is still in China. My stepdaughter's visa is in final stages, and the plan is they both go back to the USA together.

This is what I was thinking, they gave her a GC, and they just approved the visa for her daughter. Still, I get wary when I hear of people asking questions about us.

I was thinking of being proactive. If they are investigating us, behind our backs, I'd rather be prepared, and in my situation, and attorney can act on my behalf.

Thanks for your reply.

since when are the wives required to live with their father-in-laws?????? especially, in the US?

living with father-in-law?

LMAO. That's the most ridiculous question I've ever heard. I thought that would even raise a red flag lol.
