Hi everyone!
I'm new here and my husband and I have a question hoping someone could answer. My husband is an American citizen and I came here on a B1 visa from Canada 2 and a half years ago. We just recently got married and are in the process of completing of the i 485 forms and there after sending them in. I have worked here off the books on and off since I've been here, and we are both worried that I might be denied the AOS due to that. Does anyone know anything about that? Also as i am currently working off the books, should I quit my job before we send in the forms? Does me working between the times of us sending in the paperwork and us being called in for an interview matter?
And will they ask me at the interview if i have worked here since I've arrived in the US? If they do what should I answer? Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer me.

The Immediate Relative of a USC is forgiven the prior illegal work and you are deemed authorized to work upon proper filing. Include the I-765 with the I-485 and I-130 (forget the I-131, you can't use it or you would be barred from re-entry for 10 years.)

8 CFR 245.1

(b)

(10) Any alien who was ever employed in the United States without the authorization of the Service or who has otherwise at any time violated the terms of his or her admission to the United States as a nonimmigrant, except an alien who is an immediate relative as defined in section 201(b) of the Act or a special immigrant as defined in section 101(a)(27)(H), (I), (J), or (K) of the Act. For purposes of this paragraph, an alien who meets the requirements of §274a.12(c)(9) of this chapter shall not be deemed to have engaged in unauthorized employment during the pendency of his or her adjustment application
